Letter 2

Dear Granny F,

Sounds like you had a blast in NYC. Say Hi to your fellow red helmetters for me.

School has been uber uber busy. Thank goodness i'm in hufflepuff otherwise I'd be sooooooo lost. I heard that the Gryffindors and Slytherin first years are expected to find their own way around the castle!

So far my favorite class is charms. I can't wait to try some of the stuff I read in Dad's charm's books. Mom was right about Potions, it is all about the prep.

The fat friar is really nice. He let me draw him and said he'd ask the house elves if I can draw them.

Got to get back to work, I have two essays due this week. Have fun in Rhode Island and Newport.

Love Felly.

Hufflepuff Quiz

First homework assignment!

1) When did you first learn to knit - who taught you, how did you learn, what was your first project?

My Mom taught me back when I was a girl scout. I didn’t do it for long. I never really got past the swatch stage. My brother though, went on to make all his hats for when he was competitive cross-country skier.

Years later a friend introduced me to the Knifty Knitter Loom and I was pulled back into knitting. Now I have close to a dozen looms and several different types of needles and crochet hooks. I’m learning to spin with a drop spindle as well. I mainly loom knit as it is easier on my wrists and arms but will try anything fiber wise at least once.

2) What is your favorite knitting project and why? Was it the yarn your chose? Shaping? What drew you to it?

Mmm Tough question. Uh whatever one I’m currently working on? If I have to pick one I would say my Swedish Throw, which can be found in my Ravelry projects. I learned a lot on that one and it lead to me the abstract wall hangings I’m currently working on. I enjoyed using multiple types of yarn to create different textures and colors. It was also my first big project.

First Day

Dear Granny F,

Well I'm here at "the school" ;p safe and sound. I've been sorted into Hufflepuff! The dorm is just like Mum and Da said it would be.

The train ride was long though, couldn't wait for it to be over. I'll bet it will be better next time when I know more people. I've added a picture Mum took at the station.

Really tired after the long trip, I'll write again.

Love Felly

PS. How is New York?

Facts about Felly (and me)

Favorite Colors : Purple, Teal Blues, Reds and Jewel Tones

Hated colors: anything that could come out of a baby's diaper.

Allergies: Food wise I'm allergic to mushrooms, paprika and MSG.
Fiber wise I'm allergic sheep wool. I can knit and spin with it but I can't wear it at all. I also have Fibromyalgia which (in this case) means all the clothes I wear need to be soft

bit about Felly:

Felly is a second generation witch. Both her parents still have contact with their muggle families though they keep this quiet. They also were Puffs and are happy to see Felly following in their footsteps.

Her name was shortened to Felly as her grandmother Felula is still alive, kicking, purple haired and red hatted. Felly's favorite gift ever is the teal lipstick she got from Granny Felula.

Felly is often caught singing under her breath and sketching in her moleskin.
