Thanks from everyone in PDX.

Camp Came 6 clue 1, 2, 3, 4

Powdered moonstone and syrup of hellebore are used to make the Draught of Peace. A useful potion for those with a fear of flying.

Mandrake Draught un-petrifiys everyone.

Babbling Beverage makes people talk nonsense.

Murtlap essence is what they used to counter Fever Fudge.

I don't know if there are 3 more potions (4 clues for 7 potions?) but knowing Miss Wartbobble I suspect a clever trick. Searching for clues on her blog I found this post, could this be where the other potions are? dun dun daaaaa.

Camp Game 5 part 2

I decided to draw out my answers, since I didn't have time to find things to photograph. Of course I ran out of time on the drawings too as I had to take a friend to the er. (She is fine.) So here are my rough sketches and cartoons for this game. I combined the answers into one picture when I could. My Marker is my orange travel pencil box.

McGonagall Changes for ANIMAGUS

The Toad is Pissed for HIGH INQUISITOR, EDUCATIONAL DECREE,
and DAILY PROPHET

Creepy Gold Thing

The Bowtuckle meets Luna for BOWTRUCKLE, EXTENDABLE EAR and RADISH EARRINGS.

Meeting in the Forest for THESTRAL and FORBIDDEN FOREST.

Off to Ikea again and again.

Something that never happened to me before happened at Ikea today. I went in with my list firmly in hand, know exactly what I wanted and could afford. Then it happened, They LOWERED the prices on the items I was there for. This completely derailed me. Now I could get what I really wanted, not just what I could fit into the budget. Really Really confused, I was forced to retie for the evening as the store was closing. Tomorrow I will return with a new list and try again.

Off in the wilds of Connecticut

Well I'm visiting family this week and part of next week. I forget how much energy kids have. My niece and nephew have me running all over the place. Rebecka, my niece, gave me a hand with this weeks camp game.

We went to Sherwood Island beach the other day. It is the beach we always went to as kids. It has changed alot, adding a Nature Center and several park areas. It was a great deal of fun, and no one got sunburned! A First I think.

I made up some Lavender sugar and hope to make some Lavender jam this weekend. It is my contribution to the family meals.

Recipe for Lavender Sugar (or any flavored sugar really)

1 tlsp of Lavender for every cup of sugar .
Mix in a food prosesser.

And you're done! easy yes?

I'll post the Jam recipe if it comes out all right.

LOST: Two Cows

The DH and I took a break from unpacking today. We went to the Hillsboro Farmers Market and inadvertently the Hillsboro 4th of July parade. We pigged out on blueberries, raspberry and fresh made mini donuts.

Since I'll be away next week (thus missing the Oregon Lavender Festival) we went out to one of the local lavender farms to view the fields. They weren't quite in full bloom yet but views were lovely. We caught a bit of an alpaca auction which was going on next door. $2000 per animal! sheesh no wonder the yarn cost alot.

As we were driving out we saw a sign "LOST: two cows" it had us both cracking up.

Camp Game 2

In the second volume of the HP books by JK Rowling, The (#1)Chamber of Secrets, we continue to learn the incredible adventures of Hogwarts student (#2) Harry Potter and his friends (#3) Ron Weasley and (#4)Hermione Granger. Belonging to the house of (#5) Gryffindor, they attend Defense Against the (#6) Dark Arts taught by Wizarding celebrity (#7) Gilderoy Lockhart, a none-too-bright fellow who cannot even handle pixies!

In The (#8) Chamber of Secrets, we also meet Dobby a (#9)House Elf for the first time. Determined Dobby seeks to sabotage the return of (#10) Harry Potter to Hogwarts and is pretty persistent but is unsuccessful. After a few weeks at school, the deceased Ravenclaw student who haunts the girls lavatory, also known as (#11) Moaning Myrtle, shows (#12) Harry Potter and (#13) Ron Weasley an old empty diary that dropped through her ghostly form out of thin air!

Many nifty things continue to happen for the next several months… we won’t go into all the juicy details right now… however, the ending is prime reading indeed!! (#14) Harry Potter finally kills Tom Riddle’s (a.k.a #15 Voldemort) sneaky diary (which we now know is a #16) Horcrux and saves the sister of (#17) Ron Weasley, (#18) Ginny Weasley!!!

Oh! Of course, we must mention that the thickheaded (#19) Gilderoy Lockhart unintentionally erased his own memory, so he won’t be back for book three, The (#20) Prisoner of Azkaban
